South Vancouver Community Crime Prevention Society announces "Operation Mascot"
The Vancouver Community Policing Centres continually faces the challenge of developing new initiatives and strategies to address the crime prevention education of children. The need to educate them as early as possible is of utmost importance. The earlier we can capture their attention and present a positive image of the police, the earlier and more effectively we can educate them about keeping safe.
Hence, a number of the Vancouver's Community Policing Centres (South Vancouver CPC, Collingwood CPC, Kerrisdale CPC and Grandview Woodland CPC, and the West End Coal Harbour CPC) in partnership with the Vancouver Police Department have created a Mascot, named Constable Chip. Our friendly, playful chipmunk will visit school yards, community events, to meet with kids, to hand out balloons, colorful stickers, fridge magnets, and other fun items, bearing valuable safety messages.
Any sponsorship by local businesses and residents to support the ongoing cost of "Operation Mascot" will be greatly appreciated by our non-profit charitable organization. Any financial donations "tax deductible" should be addressed to:
