SIRENS FOR LIFE BLOOD CHALLENGE 2009 - WIN BACK THE HONOUR
For the past few years the sworn and civilian members of the VPD have distinguished themselves by building a reputation as the most generous emergency service agency in Vancouver. To be specific, the VPD usually donates more blood every year than Fire, Ambulance or RCMP. Last year the unthinkable happened and we were beat by the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services. This year we want to reclaim our reputation.
We've confirmed that all volunteers of Community Policing Centres (CPC) in Vancouver are eligible to donate blood and be recognized as a stat for the Vancouver Police Team. The VPD would like to encourage all CPC volunteers to give a little of your time and blood to a very worthwhile cause. When you register to give blood just tell them that you are a volunteer of a CPC and will be donating your blood on behalf of the VDP team. The competition ends on September 6th, 2009.
Even if you aren't a volunteer of a CPC, please come on down and donate blood. Every donation helps!! Remember, the need for blood never stops. You may donate blood at the Oak Street or Standard Life Clinics at the following days/times:
