One Less Patroller

Marlowe 1992 - 2007

The South Vancouver Community Policing Centre is greatly saddened by the loss of one of their dedicated pooch patrol members, Marlowe the dog. We wish to thank Marlowe's family for providing us with a tribute to his life.

It is with great sadness that we our family writes you today with the news of Marlowe's passing. He was a happy and healthy dog for over 15 years, but lost a short battle to cancer.

Marlowe's life was exceptional. He acted in commercials, movies and advertisements while young, and retired to the comfort of his East Vancouver home with his new family of Karen, Joseph and James.

His yard was green with grass, trees and a constant parade of birds. He retrieved balls and frisbees when thrown by Joseph or James - however thrown too far or too short. He loved being outside in his yard, watching the kids play.

Marlowe was always ready to go to the park, beach or forest for a walk. He watched our house when we were asleep and we were not home. He went on every family vacation, camping in cramped quarters in the tent trailer, or hiking to the stream or lake. Marlowe eagerly participated in the Mountainview patrols, walking through the neighbourhood, helping protect the area.

We sorely miss our family member dearly, but know he is not in pain anymore - and off to lush grass fields with plenty of frisbees, trees and warm water to swim.

We are richer for the privilege of having him in our life.

Karen, Joseph, James and Lionel
