Community Policing Day - Summer Poster Challenge!

3posters_svcpc.jpg

In 2002, in recognition of the efforts, the leadership and the importance of the mission of Community Policing Centres in Vancouver, Vancouver Mayor, Phillip Owen, proclaimed the last Saturday of September -- September 28th 2002 -- to be "Community Policing Day in the city of Vancouver." Once again, this year, on Saturday, September 27, 2008, Vancouver Community Policing Centres will each hold a special open house community outreach event in celebration of the Community Policing Day.

South Vancouver Community Policing Centre (SVCPC) is inviting elementary school age students from the district to take part in the Community Policing Day Poster Challenge. Visit SVCPC and learn about us. Create a poster that depict elements, or features of programs offered by SVCPC. Details ... please see the pdf file (link below).

We are inviting children and their parents over to our office on 41st and Victoria Drive for information sessions so children can learn and draw what they learn about safety, crime prevention and what SVCPC does. Come see us on July 19th, and August 9th at 1000am! Meet our patrolers. Or drop in any Saturdays during July and August.
